47. "GOLDEN FOX" - POHORJE; FIS ski WORLD CUP

GOLDEN FOX is a traditional international ski competition for the World Cup for woman. The event takes place in the Pohorje Maribor since 1964. Race in the slalom and giant slalom, total time of both games is considered as aggregate victory.

Tina Maze, the best slovenian Alpine ski racer. Maze first competed in the 2001 World Championships at age 17 and in the 2002 Winter Olympics the following year. She started her career as a giant slalomspecialist but later expanded and started competing in all disciplines. At the 2009 World Championships in Val d'Isere, France, Maze won the silver medal inthe giant slalom. She was the Slovneian flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada, where she won two silver medals in the Super-G and giant slalom.

As of December 2010, Maze has 9 World Cup victories, 8 of wich were in giant slalom. In February 2008, she won the first downhill in her career ( also first Slovenian female downhill victory ever) in Sant Moritz, Switzerland. In 2010, she was awarded the title of the best Slovneian female athlete of the year. Her personal coach Andrea Massi is a well-known Italian ski expert.
